EMBODYING THE SPACE, Installation, Stadtgalerie, Innsbruck, 2012
Acrylic, tapes.
A top part of the head is the starting point of a space-encompassing (hair) whirl that spans all room surfaces as a trompe-l'œil painting – the head as the source and seat of perception of the world and the self. Its thoughts are depicted as hairlines that stretch across the entire space in powerful sweeps that are bundled in one hand and thus turned into action. Depending on the point of view and the personal emotional set up, you can perceive this work as protective or threatening, sensual, powerful, abstract and figurative.
